Ketchup & Curry - A Cultural Handbook for Indians Going to America

New Delhi: Picture yourself leaving behind everything and everyone you have ever known in your whole life - your family, friends, school, job, favorite coffee shop, and language. And now imagine having a new set of friends, new school and new job in a different country where you may or may not know anyone. What would you do? Where do you find all the information you need?
Currently, Indians rely on family, friends and the internet to understand how things work in America. This process is laborious and ineffective. A resident from Chennai, Vivek Sreedhar uses his firsthand experiences to weave an engaging tale that entertains and guides those ready to embark on a new journey in America. This book serves as a handbook for any Indian to understand who they are and where they belong in a new country.
In his debut novel Ketchup & Curry: Your Guide to Life and Success in America, Sreedhar presents an entertaining and informative story of struggle and transformation that will resonate with immigrants from all walks of life - those who are just now beginning their new lives in America, as well as those who have already accomplished their American dream.
Vivek Sreedhar was born in Chennai, India and went to America to pursue a degree in engineering. Over a course of time, he has worked and lived with people from various cultures and backgrounds in the US, while overcoming all the differences and hurdles of migrating to a new country. He is now a successful professional with a master's degree in electrical engineering and business administration and has worked for Fortune 500 companies in multiple industries. He currently resides in the US with his Indian-American wife.
He hopes to use his own experiences of emigrating and interacting with many different cultures and backgrounds to help others find their own niche and place of comfort in the American socio-cultural scene.
America is a melting pot of cultures, where diversity thrives and amidst all the cultural differences lies your unique identity. Let this book serve as a guide for you to be better prepared as you make your transition into a new country.
